Mattie turned 7 on Friday. We never take for granted his birthday. It always amazes me how time flies. He is doing wonderful. He makes straigh A's. He is in first grade and reads second grade level books. HE is a mess and makes us laugh. I hope anyone reading this believes in God and in miracles. We thank him everyday for our child and for telling us in Feb.2005 that something was wrong....

For any families that have a child diagnosed with retinoblastoma or a childhood cancer, please know that there can be a brighter future. Mattie turned 6 years old earlier this month and leads a very normal life. Even with only one eye, he can see VERY well. He can do anything he decides to do. Most people have no idea that he only has one eye, much less a vision impairment. The strange thing is that even though he only has a left eye, he is right handed.
